What a Rough Week

Well, once again, I have been slack on posting but last week was just so darn cruddy I wasn't in the mood.

It was my birthday, and it's getting a bit tough because I feel like at my age I should have a child by now and no luck so far. Then, other than my fantastic husband and a couple of friends, people either forgot my birthday or obviously put no thought into a present for me. I got a walmart gift card - what the heck is up with that?!?!?!?!?!?

Then, I was supposed to start a procedure to help with the baby thing this past week, but because of some more complications, I couldn't and instead I get to see my cancer doctor instead. No, I don't have cancer yet, I'm at that "in between" stage which has no name where my cells are essentially pre-cancerous - but not cancerous - whatever the hell that means.

And there were some problems at work.

So that's my whining in a nutshell. One good thing of note - I'm down 47 pounds so far and that's even with my week at Disney where I ate everything that didn't eat me first. So not too shabby.

Also, I starred in my podcast debut - go over to Saturn Cast and hear the awesome special that was done on October 29th - it's good stuff.

Loved Ones Making My Life Easier.

As you know from yesterday, I was bitching about plane fares being too expensive. This was after several attempts to find a decent flight price to go home for Christmas. As you may also know, Mr. Bean (aka Christian Huygens, aka Bubbe, aka Handsome, aka Mr. RadioFanatic) hates the 11 hour drive to my house.

Well, I just got a call from Mr. Bean telling me not to stress about driving home that it will be just fine, not a big deal at all. He took a load off of my mind to say the least.

So, I said to him, you saw my blog, didn't you? And he hadn't! It was just a big coinky dink! Gotta love that man! Love you Bubbe!

Damn Airlines!

This is just wrong - just wrong I tell you. It shouldn't be cheaper for me to fly to France - ANOTHER COUNTRY PEOPLE ACROSS A BIG, BIG AREA OF WATER - than to my hometown in the USA.

It's absolutely crazy. The only way I can fly home for Christmas is if I want to spend $500 per ticket. A $1000 to fly home. And not on a great airline either.

There are many things I love about my hometown, but its airport and crappy, expensive airline ain't one of them.

Looks like I'll be driving 11 hours home. YUK!

When is my next Vacation?

So, I'm back from the Mouse. Had a wonderful time and was unhappy to go back home. Then last week, I was making up for it at work. Things are crazy there and I expect it to remain that way until I go away for Thanksgiving to gay ol' Paris.

I only work to pay for vacations. I love them. But it sure is a change to come back from 90 degrees weather to 30's and 40's. YUK! Why in the world do I live in the cold?

I'm trying to decide if I want to do a trip report or not. Let me know if you want to see one of if you just don't give a crap.
